This Privacy Policy explains how HAPPS Software LLC ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the DownWordz mobile application (the "App"), available on the Apple App Store and Google Play. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
DownWordz is designed primarily for on-device play. Most information you provide — such as your display name, avatar, and game settings — is stored locally on your device and is not uploaded to our servers unless this policy says otherwise.
2. Information We Collect

3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Operate core gameplay features, including saving your profile, settings, and progress on your device
- Validate words submitted during play using online dictionary services
- Process and restore in-app purchases, including the Remove Ads product
- Display interstitial advertising unless you have purchased Remove Ads
- Maintain and improve the App, including diagnosing bugs, crashes, and performance issues
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you about the App
- Detect and prevent cheating, fraud, or abuse
- Comply with legal obligations
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses third-party services that may collect information under their own privacy policies, including:

On iOS, advertising may be subject to Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. You can limit ad tracking in your device settings at any time.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
The App may contain advertising and in-app purchases. Parents and guardians should supervise children's use of the App and manage purchases and privacy settings on the child's device.
7. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to opt out of certain data uses such as targeted advertising.
You can also take the following steps directly:
- Change or clear your display name and avatar in the App
- Purchase Remove Ads to stop interstitial advertising in the App
- Limit ad tracking or reset your advertising identifier in your device settings
- Manage in-app purchase permissions through your Apple ID or Google account
- Uninstall the App to remove locally stored App data from your device

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and the right to request deletion, subject to certain exceptions. We do not sell personal information.
8. Data Retention & Security
Information stored locally on your device remains there until you change it, clear app data, or uninstall the App. Information held by our service providers is retained according to their policies and our agreements with them.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. International Users
HAPPS Software LLC is based in the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data protection laws than your home country.
If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other regions with data protection laws, you may have additional rights regarding access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection. Contact us to make a request.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and for material changes, we will provide additional notice where required by law or through the App.
